Thank you Alisha for your prompt response. So once I got my new phone it did as you said automatically transfer but on my jump it says I'm ineligible because of the claim that they wrongly denied. So I called tmobile and told them I have a brand new phone cause of ...well you heard the rant... And why does my phone now have anything to do with my previous claim on the jump?  Ughhh so annoying. All I wanted was my phone FIXED and still be able to be upgraded to something better.  It's not like tmobile is getting a blown out battery phone like before that TMOBILE sold me. How do I fix this? Oh and to add this rant isn't directed at you I appreciate you've been more help then everyone I spoke on the phone with. So thank you for this community service.

Good Evening,

I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 which was previously part of a friend's family plan, the device was, and I would like to know if I may activate this device now as simply as purchasing a SIM Card and new phone number ?

is the phone paid off, or still making payments?

One other thing!  The first time I was unable to use the wifi was after the

phone had been in airplane mode for a long airplane flight.   I didn't

notice the wi fi problem until I had to use wifi in a low coverage area a

day or so later  I replaced the phone in NC ( that's where I was visiting)

as I was at the end of the 2 week return period.  The second phone's wifi

worked great in NC.  Then another long flight in airplane mode back to

Seattle and wifi showed the same symptoms after taking it out of airplane

mode.

Sorry if this is TMI!  Thanks again!

Re: Every time I send a text on my Lumia 521, I completely lose signal (I go from full bars to the NO sign) and have to reset my phone.

It is probably being caused by a defect in T-Mobile's Wi-Fi Calling software. Try turning off WFC (if you don't require that feature) and see how it goes. To do so:

From the start screen, swipe left to see all apps. Tap on Wi-Fi Calling, then switch it to off. You might need to restart the device if it doesn't turn off correctly. You should see T-Mobile in the upper left corner of the screen when you're in the Phone app and not Wi-Fi Calling.

Re: Being forced to purchase a data plan to get 200MB free data for life for iPad

Here's where I stand today

  • I bought an Ipad Mini LTE at Tmobile store in May-2014 (paid in full). I used a postpaid account for 2 months. I then canceled the postpaid account.
  • The guys at Tmobile store placed a prepaid SIM back in July. I did the setup at MIM.t-mobile.com and the 200MB free data did not work by itself. The guys art the store gave me a 30 day pass.
  • The 30 day pass expired last week.  The free 200MB still does not work.   I have no other Tmobile service

Is it possible to switch from a $30 Walmart to a bigger plan for a month and then switch back?

I was thinking of getting the $30 Walmart plan because I use a cell mostly for data and some texting.  I already have home phone and internet service, so I feel like I'll already be paying for a little of it twice.  However, I will be going to Germany and needing a plan that allows me to roam.  I would like to upgrade to the $50 dollar plan for the month so I can roam in Germany.  Then, I would want to go back down to the $30 when I am back in the states.  I am just wondering if I will be able to downgrade back to the Walmart plan after upgrading.  Thanks!

Just wanted to check in on this.  I recently came to T Mobile and they mentioned a credit check but I paid cash for the three phones for the three lines.  I assume a credit check was not done but now I am not sure.  Any way of finding out?

is that 50$ plan you're talking about a prepaid plan? if so you won't be able to roam you will need to buy a roaming plan, so may be you need to ask about this roaming plan before you travel it might be easier than all that you're thinking about

A master reset is too extreme a procedure.  I prefer to just avoid Wi-Fi Calling.  It is not a stable feature.

What counts as "4G LTE"?

I'm looking at switching to T Mobile but am a little confused by the various post-paid plans that offer unlimited data with X amount of 4G LTE.  My question is, does T Mobile's "4G" HSPA+ count against your 4G LTE allotment or is it a part of the 'unlimited data'?

Re: What counts as "4G LTE"?

Hi

well to simplify this, let's say you have 2GB of data per month, it doesn't matter what speed is used either due to your phone capability or due to what's available at a certain location you are still using data and it will count against your allotment, the one thing about T-Mobile is once you hit your limit  which is the 2GB in this example, the speed will be throttled to 2G speed well not great but better than nothing and free of charge till your next billing cycle that's why they call it unlimited data since you still can use even after reaching your limit, as I said it will be slow but better than nothing

if you're a heavy data user then you might need to consider the 80$ plan that  gives you the unlimited everything plus 5gb of tethering

Sensorly data usuage should be free

I like T-Mobile and wouldn't mind contributing to it's success my mapping 4g coverage on sensorly. This isn't usually a big deal, but I am planning a road trip, and for that I am going to need all my precious data. Therefore, I'm going to turn sensorly data collection off. It would be way better if you would not include the sensorly data in my data allowance, so I could fill so lot of blank spots on the map.

Why is my IMEI not valid?

I bought a SIM card online and went through the validation steps but my I get the message below.

Oops—this isn’t a valid IMEI (phone serial number). Please try again.

The IMEI number should be 15 digits long. You can find it on the phone box, or on the phone underneath the battery.

I checked all possible errors and did not put any letters in the number.

My phone is a Samsung SIII, model GT-I9300 bought in France and unlocked. It works well with my current prepaid AT&T prepaid. Thanks.
