I have been a loyal customer for the past 2 years and use to brag about the awesome features about T mobile and especially Wi-Fi calling feature but my recent experience at a T mobile store proved otherwise.
I wanted to upgrade to HTC one at this T mobile store and the store representative got me already opened box of HTC and I requested for an unopened piece but the store representative assured me that this was new and he had just opened it right now.
The phone did not have the plastic wrap around it and when I questioned in this regard he mentioned that HTC does not come in such packing.
I believed and ended up buying the piece but found out on Internet that T Mobile HTC phone dose come up with plastic wrap.
I was disappointed and felt that I was not told the truth and when I went to store manager and told her the incident she was absolutely rude and told that as a Store manager she had the right to open any package and gave me weird explanation that if she felt the box was light she would have to open the box and check and she also had the right to check how the phones were working.
I wanted to return the piece and she asked for a restocking fee. I did end up returning the phone and paid the restocking fee as well
In the first place I was lied about and was made to buy an already open box item.
I would like an explanation from the T mobile as to what is your policy in regards to opening packages especially when you mention on your package seal that if the seal is broken we would have to abide by the contract.
How can the store manager check weight crudely with hand in this century and how accurate are they when they judge that the particular box is light when you simply weigh with hands.
Last of all why should I have to pay a restocking fee for an already open box?
Overall this experience has left me shocked as to what length the T mobile is encouraging such unethical practices in their stores.
I am awaiting an explanation from T mobile and would like to lodge a formal complaint against the store.
