A few days ago I ordered a new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and should receive it on Wednesday. I say should because when checking my order status on my My T-mobile account, it has said "backordered" and no customer service rep could tell me when I'd actually receive it, but that's another post for another time. In the meantime, I've been surfing around the net for reviews, tips & tricks, etc. I've come across several posts and articles about the new KitKat 4.4.2 update causing a whole host of problems on the Note 3 and other Samsung devices. Upon looking further, Samsung doesn't seem to have much to say about it, so being worried, I chatted with a Samsung Rep online. I immediately realized that I wasn't going to find many answers there...

Visitor: I just ordered a new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from T-Mobile and am set to receive it tomorrow. I'm wondering if it's likely that this phone will come updated with the new KitKat 4.4.2 software update already installed?

Stacie: This mobile device operates on Android™ version 4.4.2, KitKat (N900TUVUDNF1).
Stacie: Not to rush you, are we still connected on the chat?
Visitor: Thank you. I'm very concerned about this update as so many users are experiencing severe issues since the update was initially pushed last March. Is there any information that you can give me regarding when Samsung will roll out the latest update (KitKat 4.4.4)?
Stacie: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
Visitor: Sure.
Stacie: As an update pushed to the device, the device takes some time to get adjusted to the new update. The battery levels and the new features will get adjusted to new updates slowly. Not to worry, it is not at all a big issue. It will take 3-5 days.
Visitor: Great to hear, thank you.
Stacie: It was pleasure assisting you. I appreciate your cooperation and patience in assisting you.
Stacie: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
Visitor: Thanks for your help.
Visitor: That'll be all- have a great day.

Survey Comments:
The issues with the rollout of the Android KitKat 4.4.2 update to Samsung devices was greatly downplayed by the chat representative based on what I've seen and heard around the web and from owners of these devices, themselves. For the past several months there have been significant complaints regarding this update and the chat representative failed to properly acknowledge the severity of the issues and Samsung's work to improve them. I was not at all reassured.
"It's not at all a big issue"...Seriously? 3-5 days for my phone to, what, acclimate? Issues since March doesn't sound like a 3-5 day wait period for adjustment. This is technology, after all- it doesn't need a period of adjustment. The update is either buggy or stable. I'm seriously reconsidering keeping the phone. I'm so glad that I've got a 14 day return policy in case it's as awful as others make it sound. Does anybody have any information on what Samsung intends to do about this problem? Are they even really acknowledging it? I can't seem to find anything on the net one way or the other, just a lot of angry consumers. I was so excited to have the Note 3, but all I'm doing now is worrying that I'll just have to return it as soon as I finally get my hands on it (whenever that will be).
