Thanks for your help - but I just want to clarify one thing... I don't wan't my MMS messages to go over wifi, I want them to go over the data network (even when wifi enabled).  The issue is that the phone does not seem to be correctly routing the MMS over the data network when wifi is enabled.  Is this a "known limitation" on the Nexus 5 or a limitation on the T-Mobile network?  I've only been with T-Mobile for a short time and haven't seen this issue with my other phone on another carrier.
