What happened to my returned phone?!

I fell for the new "we'll pay your termination fee" incentives.  So I ported two of my numbers from ATT to give Tmob a try. I ordered a cheap droid for my son and an iPhone 5s for myself.  Got the phones and got them activated ok.  But coverage was horrible.  I live in  a city of a million people and right smack in the middle of town I was on Edge!!  Not even remotely close to LTE.  I couldn't even get apps to load. So I called to cancel and was quite shocked at what they said.  He told me I would have to pay $200 per line to cancel. What happened to the no contract thing that they are famous for??  I had the phones less than 14 days so under the law I can return them with no fees.  I was we'll aware of this law because I work for a  large retailer that sells cell phones.  I didn't tell the guy where I worked but informed him that I was within the 14 day return period.  He then went on to act as though he was doing me a favor and changing the contract dates!  If only I had recorded this conversation!  So now they tell me I have to send the phones back and then they will cancel my lines.  I had to pay the shipping and shipped them via fedex. I got confirmation that the phones were delivered.  Today I got an email confirming the they received ONE phone, the cheapie droid of course.  No mention of the iPhone 5S.  So now I'm just waiting to see what will happen.  Theses phones were in one box!  I have never dealt with such a slimy company in my life!!
