Dear T-mobile!
Could you please inform me is there any other way to unlock the phone with your company except court order?
09/03 bought a monthly plan and a phone, because I needed a local SIM for business trip and a wanted a new phone. Sales person said that all I need to do to unlock on my way home was to call support. And when my boss, who was there too ask him fir confirmation he conformed that.
09/22 call was made and surprise - no unlock Support said that there is 40 day requirement and I will need to send SMS the day before asking for unlock. That sounded not that bad, so I didn't returned the phone. I better did.
10/15 I made a call and I learned about $50, but there was something that given the situation they may make and exception and there should be 14 days to process request. That was when I was on vacation in Greece.
Then I returned to home country. Ukraine and make a very unpleasant discovery: my phone was unable to connect to network! Ukrainian roaming partner of T-mobile has an excellent signal strength, but my phone locked with T-mobile was unable to connect to network! Out of curiosity I tried to configure WiFi calling and after that it started to work in roaming. WiFi calling wasn't really working though (no 911 address - and why do you need it for WiFi roaming?! overseas)
But before that 14 days passed, no letter and one more request where I mentioned that I have no service, and it was rejected,
Well, ok, I managed to make it connect to network, so I decided to try to fulfill 7 days of activity requirement.
I sent SMS to myself and asked for unlock. And I was informed then there should be more than that, like calls during the 7 days.
Then I spent $29 for calls to my Google Voice number mostly (roaming, remember?)
I made calls 11/16, 11/19, 20/11, 21/11. 22/11. 23/11,25/11 and 26/11 and then asked to unlock yet again. Support I was talking to confirmed that I fulfilled the requirement (I have a chat log), and now my request was rejected yet again with the reason specified as "need 7 days of activity".
So dear T-mobile could you please explain in details how to get unlock with your company? Or it's impossible and I better hire a lawyer in US (because excuse me, but actions of your employees look like a fraud scheme).
