Hi tmo_lucinda,
Thank you for your reply. The link you gave me takes me to a document that says"Screen & keyboard: Samsung Galaxy S4. Under that it says "Learn how to customize the screen and keyboard settings on the Samsung Galaxy S 4. Find out more on this page;" Then it has page links that say; Backlight, Home Screen, Keyboard, Multitasking. * Please note - I do not see anywhere on the page that says "Settings Widgets".
I do see the instructions under the "Backlight" section that shows the many steps to get to the Backlight Timeout setting. * Please note - Step #5 that says "Screen Timeout" is where I would like to be able to access directly from my Home screen. Do you know a way I can do this?
Further down under "Home screen", it does tell us how to "Add a widget or shortcut to the Home screen", but the best I can figure to do from this is to make the 'Settings" widget appear on the Home screen. This does save me one step, but I would like to have a shortcut (or "widget") for the actual "Screen Timeout" which is a few more presses to get to that. This would allow me to swipe once for the Home screen, then press "Screen Timeout", then change the timeout value.
So as it is now, I still have to; 1) swipe to get the Home screen, 2) press my new Settings widget that I just created on my Home screen, 3) select My device 4) select Display 5) select Screen Timeout (which is #7 down on the list - I have to search for it every time) 6) select the Timeout value.
Ultimately, I would like to have 1) a Screen timeout widget & 2) a Brightness widget (* Note - the brightness I realize is easier to get to by swiping down from the top on Home screen - I would be only gaining one step here). Just anything to reduce the steps to get to these settings quicker would help tremendously. Any suggestions?
My sincere thanks, rjp
