Hi there folks,
I'm looking into replacing my satellite internet now that my contract with them is about to expire. I haven't been particularly happy with the service, but it has been the only option until recently.
A 4G data plan would work for me, by installing the 4G receiver on a hill near the house, and doing a directional antenna wifi link down a hill. Fun stuff.
The only issue is that none of the carriers seem to have a plan that would suit this usage case. I'm looking at T-mobile since I already have an account with 4 phones with them, on the "unlimited" plan. T-mobile seems to offer plans with at most 11GB of usage before intense throttling sets in. That's not that great, really; on par with what we're limited to on satellite already, and I'm looking to improve our service here.
Has anyone out there negotiated around this with T-mobile, for special circumstances? Or found some sort of offering that isn't listed on the website, for the usual users?
Similarly, if anyone knows of any network resellers that might offer something unthrottled, or at least a bit more catered to home internet, please let me know.
