why can t-mobile return my phone?

So we had t-mobile and weren't to happy with our service and before the 14 days were up we canceled our service and brought our phones back. Well after 2 hours at the store they told us they couldn't return them because we had already canceled our service and we were to doing the installment plan on our phones. They called different managers and even the t-mobile help desk. They said they opened a ticket and will give us a call when they hear back from the help desk. Its been 2 WEEKS!!!! I want our money back that we are owed! I followed the return policy and was within the 14 day period. My phones were in well working order and had everything they came with. I get I have to pay a restocking fee and that's fine! BUT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!  I have called the store multiple times and still get the same response "when we get an email about the ticket we will call you". Why is it so dang hard to return 2 phones and the cases? Im so upset right now that T-mobile cant do a simple return. I am so happy that we switched to a different company. Can anyone help me understand why T-mobile has been taking so long to do a simple return?
