I was initially using jellybean on Samsung Galaxy S 4 and for a while was sending and receiving MMS with no issue. I can still send MMS without issue and but I was still having issues receiving MMS. I was advised byTmobile to upgrade to KitKat. Still experienced issues receiving MMS. Tried turning Wifi on and off. Under Wi-Fi Calling, Cellular Preferred is on. Tried setting APN settings to default. None of that worked but what ultimately allowed a message to get through was changing my default APN settings. I was unable to make changes directly in the default, so I manually created a new one and followed the guidelines listed:

To set the internet, picture messaging (MMS), and access point name (APN) settings, follow these steps:

Android phones

Note:
On Android phones you can reset the default APN settings for data and picture messaging (MMS).
In the event that you need to manually set the APN, follow these steps:

    FOTA APN,
you may leave that one. To do this:
    1. Touch the APN you want to delete.
    2. Press the Menukey.
    3. Touch
      Delete APN
      .
  10. Verify that there is a circle next to the
one remaining APN to show it is activated.

Under the APN type, I first tried <Not Set>, which did not work but Internet+MMS did work and I finally received a picture after saving out of my newly created APN. However, the green dot keeps going back to the default APN when I'm in APN section or nowhere near it. I tried to delete the default APN but everytime I click on it and then press the menu button to delete, the only option I'm given is reset it to default. I just want to be able to receive pictures so if there is no way to delete the default, how else can I go about receiving pictures?
