Since you guys did a great job figuring out the battery life problem with this wretched Jelly Bean update for the HTC one s, I have one more problem we need to figure out.
Has anyone noticed that “Slacker” now stutters once or twice per song? It never did this with ICS, I can assure you. I have streamed music with Slacker for a year before this update and never heard anything like this, especially since I’m always on high-speed data networks (like USB pass-through, and WiFi at the house). I know it’s not network lag because the “prefill” bar is always full right after the song starts.
Note: there is NO stutter with the built-in music player. Smooth as silk there.
I have tried these things to fix it:
- Clearing the “cache” partition from the bootloader
- Installing the RUU manually from HTC’s website. Yes, this made me loose all my apps and settings but I’m desperate to get it back working so I didn’t care.
- Factory reset
None of these made any difference. Keep in mind I tested this right after the manual RUU install, with NO OTHER APPS at all to make sure it wasn’t some kind of conflict with another app.
I would just like to know if some of you could try Slacker for a few songs and see if it “hiccups” for 1/2 to 2 seconds about twice per song.
Thanks! You guys are a life saver.
