leave the apps you want to use with location services on and turn off the location services until your ready to you. i never heard of battery draining because of apps checked off in location services with the services off
as for the battery charging i was told by numerous representatives that its better to drain to like 4% everyday if you can. now when you first buy a device you should drain the battery to 0% then charge fully.
turn your iPhone off and on twice a day, if you drive to work reset before you leave, if your like me and use public transportation then reset when you get to your destination. it make sense to reset you phone and keep your phone if your driving just in case of an emergency but if your not then you can keep it on until you get where your going and give it a quick reset then your good to go for the day.
I don't know much about the batteries but thats the only department all handheld devices lack until (except Motorola) they find a way to really increase battery life theirs not much we can do. motorola devices are still not perfect but they did work on the whole battery life problem more then most companies. Let's just see what this motorola x phone battery looks like then maybe other companies will throw money towards that technology and give us cancer phone lol jk but it would be nice to see a iphone with a motorola battery like droid razor max (15 - 21 hour talk time )
