It is T-Mobile's call because I am not asking about the manufacturer's device warranty. I'm asking about T-Mobile's JUMP program for which I pay a monthly fee which covers (1) an equipment protection plan and (2) an early upgrade process. T-Mobile entirely controls the terms and conditions of that program. For example, those terms state that an eligible device must be able to "power on and have its hardware and software operating in a manner consistent with the original Manufacturer’s specifications." One could certainly argue that a Knox tripped device does not meet that requirement and thus would be ineligible for the program.
All I want to know is:
(1) whether T-Mobile will honor the equipment protection plan on a Knox tripped phone,
(2) whether a Knox tripped phone is an eligible device for a JUMP upgrade, and
(3) whether in doing the JUMP upgrade T-Mobile will treat the phone as damaged because of the Knox flag and require the filing of an equipment protection claim and the paying of the deductible.
It isn't complicated. I just need to be able to weigh the pros and cons of rooting/modifying vs. JUMP. The answers to these questions make that possible. For example, if the answers to questions 1 and 2 are no, then I have to decide either to leave Knox untripped or cancel the JUMP plan. It doesn't make sense to trip Knox and keep paying JUMP.
It's frustrating that I can't get any kind of official answer. No post in response here. I asked on Facebook and they said "great question, email tforce." I did, and have gotten no response from them. I just want clarity from an official source I can rely on.
