I am dealing with the same problem rzpwilson has word for word, I have tried everything including taking out both the battery and sim card to restart my phone to no avail. I'm using the mytouch 4g slide by the way, the 500 internal server error started happening when I updated the my t-mobile account on google play. It was working fine before then but now I can't even change my plan anymore, I have tried uninstalling the app and reverting back to the stock my account but that doesn't work either I don't know what to do. I can confirm that it also works for me when changing my plan from my laptop but it is very inconvenient that I can't change it from my phone, I'm just glad I'm not the only one dealing with this issue and hope tmobile fixes it soon as I think the error is server side or within the app itself.
