Re: BLU Life One X - 3G compatibility?

Please remember that older T-mobile faux4G/3G technology split the data into two bands 1700 & 2100 one channel for uploads and one for downloads, that's why all T-Mobile branded phones have these 2 bands. Starting sometime 2 or 3 years back T-mobile started upgrading or switching its towers & network to support 1900 Mhz band with its faux4G/3g Hspa+. so you didn't need the two 1700/2100 bands to get access to t-mobiles higher speed data anymore.

The Moto G only works because of its 3G/hspa+ 1900 mhz band on a Re-farmed t-mobile network

Main problem here is that T-Mobile has not fully announced If all markets got the re-farming upgrade, and if you ask someone like a  t-moble tech support telephone rep or workers in the forum you will see the same answers that they always respond with. Now on to helping you!

Part 1: You have to get model Blu Life One X model L132U . The "U" in the model stand for United states/America and has all the Proper radios to work in a Re-farmed  T-Mobile market. ( The L132L model stand for Latin America/ International?.)

Part 2 What is a Re-farmed T-mobile market?. Re-farmed simply means that t-mobile has shifted around its 2G, 3G/Faux4G data to its 1900 Radio band. If you have the correct BLU model (with the "A" or "U" at the end) phone that supports the 1900 band and you live in a re-farmed market you will be blessed with speeds on average of 1-7 MB down with people reporting higher after rooting and modding.

I can't tell you if the Chicago area has been re-farmed / or updated.  You may have to check forums like Google plus community for more info:
